Sony announces pricing for the Playstation VR2 along with 11 new games

The price is sky high and the release date is sooner than most people thought it would be.

Sony has been talking about the Playstation VR2 now for quite some time dating back to the beginning of 2021, but we now have the information many have been waiting for. The release date of Sony’s Playstation VR2 is set for February 22nd at an eye-watering price of $549.99.

The higher price is surely due to the cost of inflation, but it still doesn’t take away from the fact that this standalone VR headset costs $50 more than the most expensive version of the Playstation 5.

The $550 base package only includes the PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers, and stereo headphones but there will also be a Horizon Call of the Mountain pack-in bundle, which includes the VR spin-off of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn series for $600.

In addition to the release date and pricing, Sony also announced 11 new games for the headset which will be release throughout 2023 and beyond.

The games are as follows:

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR | Developer: Supermassive Games
