Because Your AirTag Deserves to Survive the Apocalypse.
Elevation Lab has unveiled the TimeCapsule, a robust accessory designed to enhance Apple’s AirTag by providing waterproof and dustproof protection while extending its battery life to an impressive ten years. Priced at $19.99 for a single unit, $29.99 for a pair, and $39.99 for a four-pack, the TimeCapsule is now available for purchase.
Constructed from fiber-reinforced polycarbonate, the TimeCapsule replaces the standard CR2032 coin cell battery of the AirTag with two AA batteries, ensuring that Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) signals remain unaffected. With an IP69 rating, it offers maximum protection against water, dust, and dirt, making it ideal for various environments.
While the TimeCapsule adds some bulk—bringing the total weight to 3.5 ounces with batteries, compared to the AirTag’s original 0.39 ounces—it compensates by camouflaging the AirTag, making it resemble an external storage drive. However, users should note that the case muffles the AirTag’s chirps by about a third, potentially making it harder to locate by sound.
Elevation Lab recommends using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries to maximize battery life and prevent leaks and corrosion. Nickel-metal hydride batteries are also compatible but may require more frequent recharging.
For those seeking a durable solution to extend their AirTag’s battery life and protect it from harsh conditions, the TimeCapsule presents a compelling option.
