Amazon has confirmed its 2025 Devices & Services event will take place on Tuesday, September 30th in New York City, marking its first large-scale fall showcase in two years. The annual presentation is expected to highlight refreshed Kindle e-readers, new Echo smart speakers, Fire TV updates, and advances in Alexa’s AI platform.
The event will be one of the first under Panos Panay, Amazon’s devices chief who joined in 2023 after leading Microsoft’s Surface division. Panay has already steered Amazon toward deeper hardware-software integration and hinted that this fall’s devices will showcase more refined design and expanded display use.
What to Expect
- Kindle lineup: The teaser image includes a pen, fueling speculation about a color Kindle Scribe or updated stylus-enabled readers.
- Echo refresh: The glowing blue ring on the invite points toward new Echo speakers, likely bundled with the next phase of Alexa+, Amazon’s AI-powered assistant.
- Fire TV and displays: Updates to Fire TV hardware and Echo Show displays are also expected, building on last year’s incremental Fire Stick and smart display upgrades.
In 2024, Amazon skipped its usual fall event, instead releasing devices quietly across the year. In early 2025, it hosted a software-first showcase to launch Alexa+, but no new hardware. This September’s event is meant to re-establish Amazon’s fall presentations as a centerpiece for its ecosystem.
CEO Andy Jassy has already teased “a brand new lineup of beautiful devices” that blend design with functionality, while Panay emphasized the importance of displays in Amazon’s future hardware. Together, their vision points to products that expand beyond utility into aspirational design.
