The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge aims to pack flagship power into one of the thinnest designs Samsung has ever made. I used it for several days across my regular routine, testing its performance, camera, and endurance. The phone delivers standout design and speed, but the ultra-thin body leaves little room for the essentials that power users expect.
Design and Build
The Galaxy S25 Edge feels instantly premium. At only 5.8 millimeters thick and around 163 grams, it is the lightest flagship I have held in years. The titanium frame and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 front make it feel durable despite its slim profile. The design looks futuristic and refined, especially in the matte finish options.
The thin frame comes with tradeoffs. The camera bump stands out more, and the curved edges make the phone slightly slippery when holding it one-handed. Buttons feel solid, and the overall construction is tight and minimal. However, the narrow body sometimes made me worry about durability if dropped on a hard surface.
Performance and Features
Speed and Daily Use
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and 12 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S25 Edge handled multitasking, gaming, and editing without slowdown. Thermal control was excellent, and the phone stayed comfortable to hold during extended use. One UI 7 felt smooth, and app switching was quick. I never noticed lag or frame drops in regular use.
Display
The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is a highlight. It features QHD+ resolution, adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, and vibrant color accuracy. Outdoor visibility was excellent even in direct sunlight. The display quality is easily among the best in its class. The only drawback is the fingerprint sensor, which occasionally missed readings if my fingers were damp or misaligned.
Camera
The S25 Edge uses a 200 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide. Photos in daylight looked sharp with accurate color balance. Low-light shots retained good detail, though noise control was less consistent than on the S25 Ultra. The lack of a telephoto lens limits versatility, forcing the camera to rely on digital zoom. It performs fine up to 2x, but quality drops beyond that.
Software
The phone ships with One UI 7 on Android 15 and includes Galaxy AI tools like generative editing and live translation. Samsung DeX works flawlessly for those who like using a phone as a desktop workstation. Samsung also promises seven years of software and security updates, which adds long-term value.
Battery, Charging, and Connectivity
Battery life is where the S25 Edge shows its main weakness. The 3,900 mAh cell is simply too small for a phone this powerful. With normal use, I averaged about 12 to 13 hours before needing to recharge. On heavy days, I needed to plug in before evening.
Charging speeds are also behind competitors. The phone supports 25 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. Both are slower than what other flagships now offer. A full charge takes roughly 90 minutes, which feels long compared to faster devices.
Connectivity remained strong throughout testing. 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connections were stable, call quality was clear, and Bluetooth pairing worked without issue.
Pros
- Ultra-slim and lightweight design with premium build materials
- Excellent AMOLED display with vibrant colors and high brightness
- Strong performance with efficient thermal control
- Smooth and refined software experience with long-term support
- Water and dust resistance
- Useful AI tools and desktop mode through Samsung DeX
Cons
- Small battery drains quickly under heavy use
- Slow charging speeds compared to other flagship phones
- No optical zoom or telephoto lens
- Fingerprint sensor occasionally misses scans
- Curved edges make it easy to slip from your hand
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge stands out as one of the most beautiful and portable flagships available. The display, build quality, and processing power are all top-tier, and the device feels great to hold. However, the smaller battery, limited camera versatility, and slower charging keep it from ranking among the best all-around phones. For users who value sleek design and portability over battery endurance and zoom flexibility, the Galaxy S25 Edge delivers a premium experience that feels futuristic and refined.
Overall Score: 7.7 out of 10
