Hilary Duff is preparing for her long-awaited return to music. In a new interview with Variety, the actress and singer confirmed that she is working on her first studio album in nearly a decade after signing with Atlantic Records.
Duff said the new project is coming together faster than fans might expect. “It’ll happen in the blink of an eye,” she told the outlet, hinting that her comeback could arrive sooner rather than later.
Her last studio album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., was released in 2015 and marked her first major return to pop music after several years focused on acting. Since then, Duff has starred in Younger, How I Met Your Father, and raised three children, stepping back from the spotlight as a recording artist.
She explained that the timing for her return finally felt right. “I needed to feel safe and have the right people in my corner,” Duff said, noting that her new team has given her the creative support she needed to reenter the studio.
Alongside the album, Duff is also working on a docuseries that will chronicle her journey back to music. The project will follow her through songwriting sessions, rehearsals, and her balance between motherhood and her career. The series is being directed by Sam Wrench, known for helming major concert documentaries.
While Duff has not shared a release date for either the album or the docuseries, her enthusiasm signals a full creative resurgence. With a new label deal, a studio comeback, and renewed passion for music, fans may soon see a side of Hilary Duff that hasn’t been in the spotlight since her early 2000s pop reign.
