Kojima Productions is gearing up to celebrate a decade of independence with its 10th anniversary event, Beyond the Strand, and IGN has secured the exclusive streaming rights. The showcase will be hosted in Tokyo on September 23rd, 2025, and globally broadcast in English via IGN’s website and YouTube channels.

For viewers outside Japan, the event timing translates to the evening of September 22nd in U.S. time zones (9:00 PM PDT / 12:00 AM EDT)

IGN is serving as the official streaming partner, carrying the event in English for global audiences.

What to Expect From the Event

Kojima describes Beyond the Strand not just as a celebration, but a Strand gathering — a symbolic nod to the connections his studio has built with fans (whom he affectionately calls “Sam-ones”) over the past decade.

While full details are still under wraps, the studio says the program will include guest appearances and offer a glimpse into future projects.

Two of Kojima’s most discussed upcoming titles, OD (a horror project) and Physint (a hybrid “game & film” espionage concept), are the most likely candidates to feature in the reveals.

There is also speculation that even Death Stranding 2 could receive additional post-launch updates or hints during the event.

Given Kojima’s track record for surprise announcements in unexpected settings, fans are watching closely for wildcard reveals beyond the likely suspects.
