After nearly twelve years on the air and a run spanning 40 seasons, Food Network’s weekend cooking-talk show The Kitchen is set to air its final episode on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The network made the announcement in October, citing a strategic shift in programming priorities while thanking the hosts, crew, guests and viewers for their support.
Launched in January 2014, the series blended recipe demonstrations, chef-panel discussion and celebrity guest appearances. Over more than 500 episodes it invited audiences into a lively kitchen atmosphere hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian, with frequent contributions from guest chef Alex Guarnaschelli.
The decision to end the series comes amid broader changes at the network as parent company Warner Bros. Discovery works on reorganizing its linear and streaming content strategies. According to statements from the network, The Kitchen will spend its final weeks celebrating the holiday season with viewers, emphasizing gratitude and community.
For many fans the show has been a consistent source of food-focused entertainment that deviated from high-stakes competition formats. As one host reflected, the series was as much about sharing meals and stories as it was about cooking. With its finale scheduled for December, The Kitchen ends one chapter of Food Network’s daytime lineup while leaving behind a lasting legacy of approachable cuisine, chef camaraderie and comfort television.
