During today’s Nintendo Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that Nintendo and Illumination will release The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on April 3, 2026. The film will be a sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie and will draw heavily from the Super Mario Galaxy series.

Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek) will all reprise their roles. Nintendo said the movie will be a centerpiece of the 40th anniversary celebrations and will expand the cinematic universe introduced in the first film.
