OnePlus’s latest flagship, the OnePlus 15, launched globally but U.S. availability is now delayed because the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) still needs to certify the device. OnePlus says all lab tests are done and the application has been submitted; they’re just waiting for the final stamp of approval.

The phone boasts top-tier hardware: a large 7,300 mAh battery designed for “up to two-day” use, a 6.78″ 165 Hz display, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and built-in AI features thanks to the integration of Gemini AI. Pricing in the U.S. is set at $899 for the base 12 GB / 256 GB model, and $999 for the 16 GB / 512 GB version—mirroring Canadian pricing where it is already on sale.

OnePlus North America marketing head Spenser Blank stated, “As is the case with every smartphone manufacturer, the United States’ Federal Communications Commission certifies OnePlus devices before they are sold in the U.S. As a result of the government shutdown, device certifications have been delayed. Subsequently, U.S. sales for the OnePlus 15 will be postponed until they have been secured.”

The reason for the delay? The recent U.S. government shutdown left the FCC with a backlog of certification work, creating a pause in the approval process that affects the U.S. release timeline. OnePlus says once the certification is cleared they’ll move quickly to bring the phone to American customers.

Availability elsewhere is proceeding: Canada gets the phone starting November 13, and other markets are going ahead as scheduled. U.S. buyers can sign up at OnePlus.com to receive email notification when the device becomes available.
