Sony is rolling out a new system update for the PlayStation 5 on Wednesday, September 17, introducing two major upgrades: a Power Saving mode and expanded DualSense controller syncing options.

DualSense Sync Across Devices

Players will now be able to pair a single DualSense controller with up to four different devices through Bluetooth. Each device is tied to a face button on the controller, making it easy to switch between them. By pressing the PS button along with the chosen face button, users can instantly connect to the desired device. Sony first previewed this feature back in July, and it is now officially available as of Wednesday, September 17th.

Power Saving Mode

The update also adds a new Power Saving mode aimed at lowering energy consumption. When enabled, the system reduces performance in certain games to conserve power. However, features such as VR gameplay will not function while Power Saving mode is active, and some other in-game features may also be limited. Players can enable it through the settings menu under System > Power Saving.

How to Update

To download the latest system software, users can head to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings on their PS5 consoles.

With these new features, Sony continues to refine the PS5 experience by offering players more flexibility with their controllers and additional options for energy efficiency.
