On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, Rock Band 4 celebrates its 10th anniversary. Unfortunately, it also marks the day the game and part of its soundtrack are removed from PlayStation and Xbox digital stores. The delisting comes as the original music licenses for the game’s core soundtrack reach expiration.

In a message to the community, the development team shared:

“On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, Rock Band 4 turns 10. What a ride it’s been. With this milestone comes one big change: the original licenses for the core soundtrack are expiring. Because of that, Rock Band 4 will be removed from the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores. If you already own the game, nothing changes. You’ll keep full access and can still download the game and songs to any compatible devices. The same applies to downloadable content. Songs will come down as they hit the 10-year mark, but anything you’ve purchased will remain in your library.”

Anyone who already owns Rock Band 4 or its downloadable content will keep access even after the removal. After October 5th, new purchases will no longer be available.

This update follows Harmonix’s decision to stop releasing new DLC in January 2024, ending a remarkable run that added more than 3,000 songs over the years. As each track reaches its own 10-year licensing milestone, it may also be delisted from sale, though users will retain everything already in their accounts.

While fans understand that music rights have expiration limits, the delisting still feels like the end of an era for one of the last rhythm franchises still standing. For players hoping to complete their libraries, this weekend is the final opportunity to do so before the curtain closes.
