Foo Fighters have announced a major stadium tour for the summer of 2026, marking their biggest live run since their 2024 outing. The effort signals the band’s full return to large-scale performance following lineup changes and a period of relative quiet.
Frontman Dave Grohl reflected on the announcement: “Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing.” He added that with the addition of new drummer Ilan Rubin the band has renewed energy. “We have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon.”
The tour, titled the Take Cover Tour, kicks off on August 4 in Toronto at Rogers Stadium, then moves through major U.S. markets including Detroit (August 6), Chicago (August 8) and Cleveland (August 10). Other cities include Philadelphia (August 13), Nashville (August 15) and Washington, D.C. (August 17). The Canadian leg continues in the fall with dates in Fargo (September 12), Regina (September 15), Edmonton (September 17), Vancouver (September 20) and wraps at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on September 26.
Support acts will feature a strong lineup: Queens of the Stone Age will join most dates, with Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away also on select shows. The band noted many more dates may still be announced, suggesting the list could expand.
In conjunction with the tour news, Foo Fighters released a new single titled “Asking for a Friend.” Grohl teased that it is “one of many songs to come,” hinting at possible new album work or more standalone releases ahead of the tour.
The 2026 tour holds additional significance because it is the first full stadium outing with Ilan Rubin on drums. Rubin joined after the departure of Josh Freese, who had himself stepped in after the tragic death of long-time drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. The fresh lineup, combined with new music and the band’s storied catalog, makes this one of the most anticipated tours of next year.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on October 31, 2025, with presales beginning earlier for fans and newsletter subscribers. With massive venues, high-profile support and new songs in the mix, Foo Fighters’ 2026 summer tour is positioned to reaffirm their place among rock’s elite live acts.
