A new leak tied to Samsung’s One UI 8 has given us the clearest look yet at the company’s upcoming tri fold smartphone. The discovery was originally shared by tipster @TechHighest on X (formerly Twitter) and highlights how the device will fold, how it will protect its display, and how it may enhance everyday use.
The animation shows a U shaped inward fold that protects the primary screen when the phone is closed. A separate cover display is visible on the outside, designed to give users quick access to notifications and apps without having to unfold the entire device. This design closely resembles Samsung’s existing Galaxy Z Fold series but introduces a third panel that expands the overall display area once opened.
The leak also suggests that the rear cameras will double as selfie cameras. When folded, the cover screen can display a live preview, making it possible for users to take higher quality self portraits without relying on a lower resolution front facing lens. This approach aligns with Samsung’s history of repurposing its strongest camera hardware for multiple functions.
Reports also point to high end specifications that match the premium nature of the device. A titanium frame is expected to improve durability while a Snapdragon processor, expanded RAM, and a 10 inch internal display could position the phone as a multitasking powerhouse. One UI 8 is expected to introduce features tailored to this format, including advanced multitasking layouts that allow users to run three apps simultaneously with improved screen management.
The timing of the leak lines up with growing speculation around Samsung’s fall product announcements. The company has already confirmed that its tri fold device is in the final stages of development and is planning to launch it before the end of the year. Analysts believe an official unveiling could happen on September 29, with South Korea and China likely to be the first markets to receive it before a wider global release.
