Samsung may finally be ready to increase the battery size in its top flagship. A new rumor suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra could ship with a 5,200 mAh battery, giving the phone a small but meaningful bump over the 5,000 mAh capacity Samsung has used in every Ultra model since the S20 Ultra in 2020.
The report also mentions a possible upgrade for the standard Galaxy S26, which could rise from 4,000 mAh to about 4,300 mAh. These numbers are early, but they point to Samsung testing ways to push a little more life out of each charge as users rely more heavily on camera apps, AI features, and high refresh-rate displays.
Battery capacity alone does not guarantee longer runtime. Actual improvement will depend on how Samsung tunes its hardware and software, especially with more demanding processors expected next year. Even so, any increase is likely to be welcomed by owners who have been asking for bigger gains in the Ultra line.
It is still too early to know whether this upgrade will make it into the final product. Samsung has not confirmed any details about the Galaxy S26 series, and the phone is not expected to be announced until early 2026. For now, the rumor offers the first hint that Samsung may be ready to break its long battery plateau and push the Ultra model forward in a way fans have wanted for years.
